Prices of old one-dwelling houses fell by 9.6 per cent in July to September 2023 from one year ago

According to Statistics Finland, prices of old one-dwelling houses fell by 9.6 per cent in the third quarter of 2023 from the previous year and by 2.7 per cent from the previous quarter. In July to September 2023, around 22 per cent fewer transactions of old one-dwelling houses were made than in the corresponding period one year earlier.

  • Prices of old one-dwelling houses fell from one year earlier especially in municipalities with over 100,000 inhabitants and in Southern Finland. Prices went down least in municipalities with 60,000 to 100,000 inhabitants.
  • Prices of one-dwelling house plots fell by over 10 per cent in the whole country compared to one year earlier.
  • Thirty-eight per cent fewer transactions of old one-dwelling houses were made in municipalities with over 100,000 inhabitants than one year earlier.
  • Thirty-three per cent fewer transactions of one-dwelling house plots were made than in the corresponding period of the previous year.
  • Prices of new one-dwelling houses rose by 1.5 per cent from the previous year but decreased by 0.5 per cent from the previous quarter.
