Costs of civil engineering rose in May 2024 by 1.3 per cent from one year ago

According to Statistics Finland, the costs of civil engineering rose by 1.3 per cent from May 2023 to May 2024. The annual change in costs varied by sub-index from 3.6 per cent for technical and other systems to -1.5 per cent for concrete structures.

  • Examined by cost factor in May 2024, the biggest cost increases from one year ago occurred in the costs of own machinery (6.0%) and purchased machine services (4.8%).
  • Examined by cost factor in materials, costs decreased most per year in plastic products (-11.3%) and metal products (-8.7%).
  • Costs of maintenance rose by 3.9 per cent compared to the previous year.
