Costs of civil engineering rose in July 2024 by 0.1 per cent from one year ago

According to Statistics Finland, the costs of civil engineering rose by 0.1 per cent from July 2023 to July 2024. The annual change in costs varied by sub-index from 1.8 per cent for earth structures to -1.8 per cent for municipal engineering systems.

  • Examined by cost factor in July 2024, the biggest cost increases from one year ago occurred in the costs of purchased machine services (3.4%) and own machinery (1.8%).
  • Examined by cost factor in materials, costs decreased most per year in plastic products (-9.1%) and metal products (-8.2%).
  • The total index rose by 0.1 per cent from the month before.
  • Costs of maintenance rose by an average of 2.3 per cent compared to the previous year.
