Data protection descriptions
The EU's General Data Protection Regulation requires that data subjects are informed about the processing of data concerning them. The General Data Protection Regulation defines what information must be given to the data subject when data are collected from the data subject personally and when data are collected from other sources.
Provision of information required by the Regulation is collected on Statistics Finland's data protection page and data protection descriptions. When data are collected from the persons themselves, written information is supplied to them in connection with the data collection on the statistics the data collection concerns, the use purpose of the data and data protection, for example.
Data protection descriptions are mainly available in Finnish and Swedish in the web service.
