Altogether 26.3 million passengers flew through Finnish airports in 2019
In 2019 altogether 26.3 million passengers flew through Finnish airports. There were 22.0 million passengers at Helsinki Airport and a total of 4.3 million passengers at other domestic airports. Helsinki Airport accounted for 84 per cent of all passengers at domestic airports. There were 1.1 million passengers at Oulu Airport, 0,7 million passengers at Rovaniemi Airport and 0,5 million passengers at Turku Airport.
Passengers of international and domestic flights year 2019
Seventy-seven per cent of the passengers were from international flights and 23 per cent from domestic flights. Of the passengers at Helsinki Airport, 87 per cent were from international flights. Of the passengers at Turku Airport, 76 per cent and of the passengers at Tampere-Pirkkala Airport, 61 per cent were from international flights. Of the passengers at Lappeenranta Airport and at Enontekiö Airport, 100 per cent were from international flights. Ninety-seven per cent of the passengers at Helsinki Airport flew on scheduled flights and three per cent on chartered flights. At the other domestic airports, 13 per cent of the passengers flew on chartered flights.
In 2019 air freight and mail transports amounted to 225.856 tonnes in total, and 98 per cent of the tonnes were transported through Helsinki Airport. Ninety-nine per cent of the tonnes were transported between Finland and foreign countries. Altogether 123.490 tonnes of the goods were outgoing and 102.366 tonnes were incoming.
