Wages and salaries sum grew by 3.1 per cent in June to August
The wages and salaries sum of the whole economy was 3.1 per cent greater in the past June to August period than in the corresponding period twelve months back. In August alone the wages and salaries sum of the whole economy grew by 3.8 per cent. In the June to August period one year ago the wages and salaries sum fell by 1.3 per cent year-on-year.

The wages and salaries sum went up in all the industries for which statistics are compiled. The growth was fastest in private health and social work (6.5%) and in the private educational services sector (5.3%). The increase in the wages and salaries sum was most moderate in manufacturing where it grew by 0.3 per cent from the comparison period of the year before.
