Seasonal adjustment models were revised

In connection with the release of data for March 2021, permanent level shifts (LS) have been introduced in seasonal adjustment of wage and salary indices. Previously, only temporary level shifts have been utilised in the seasonal adjustment models of the wage and salary indices. The introduction of level shifts harmonises the methods of statistics with those describing the labour force and improves the quality of the seasonal adjustment models. Due to the change, seasonally adjusted data and trend series for old time periods become substantially revised for part of the industries. More detailed information about seasonal variation in time series and the method used for seasonal adjustment can be found in the report on : Seasonal adjustment with the Tramo/Seats method.
