Road Freight Transport 2008

In 2008, the volume of goods transported by lorries in domestic road transport amounted 418 million tonnes, which was nearly on the same level as in 2007. The total performance of lorries was 27,613 million tonne-kilometres. There was a six per cent increase in tonne-kilometres from 2007. These data derive from the statistics on domestic goods transport by road compiled by Statistics Finland.

A total of 189 million tonnes of soil materials were transported during 2008. The volume of other goods totalled 229 million tonnes.
