Base year for the indices of owner-occupied housing prices is changed

The base year for the indices of owner-occupied housing prices will be changed starting from the data for the 1st quarter of 2017. The revised indices will be published on 30 June 2017. The new base year will be 2015. Revised price indices of old single-family houses are used in the calculation of the updated indices, for which reason the revised series differ from those published earlier for the years 2015 and 2016.

The base year is changed due to Eurostat's requirement to change the base years for the indices of owner-occupied housing prices into 2015. The data content of the indices of owner-occupied housing prices is determined based on the Commission Regulation (No 93/2013) that entered into force at the beginning of 2013.
