Turnover in service industries grew by 0.3 per cent year-on-year in the last quarter of 2013
Turnover in service industries still grew only marginally in October to December. Turnover only grew by 0.3 per cent from the corresponding time period of the year before. One year previously, turnover in service industries grew by 2.6 per cent in the corresponding period. The development of turnover in service industries has been clearly slower in the January to December period of 2013 than in the previous year. Services are here examined exclusive of trade.
Three months' year-on-year change in turnover in services (TOL 2008)
Turnover development in October to December was weaker in nearly all main service industries than in the corresponding period of the previous year. Turnover development was more favourable only for enterprises in the industry of arts, entertainment and recreation, and in information and communication services in the last quarter compared to one year earlier. Turnover in arts, entertainment and recreation activities grew by 5.6 per cent and in information and communication services by 2.7 per cent from the corresponding period of the previous year. In the last quarter of the year, turnover development was negative in the following service industries: transportation and storage (-1.8 per cent), administrative and support service activities (-1.0 per cent), real estate activities (-1.0 per cent) and other service activities (-0.8 per cent).
