Mining and quarrying the most significant product group of intermediate consumption in 2012
According to the supply and use tables concerning the year 2012, mining and quarrying (incl. crude oil) was the most significant product group of intermediate consumption in Finland's national economy. The next most important product groups were coke and refined petroleum products, real estate services, constructions and construction works, and chemicals and chemical products.

Intermediate consumption consists goods and services consumed as inputs by a process of production, excluding fixed assets (capital goods), whose consumption is recorded as consumption of fixed capital.
Statistics Finland publishes annually supply and use tables describing product flows in the national economy, and input-output and analysis tables derived from them. The data published now concern the year 2012 following the new European System of Accounts (ESA 2010). Data according to the new European System of Accounts concerning the years 2010 and 2011 will be released in April 2015. Data for 2000 to 2009 will not be published according to the new European System of Accounts. Tables concerning the year 2013 will be published in December 2015.
