Producer prices for services rose in the 2nd quarter
According to Statistics Finland, producer price indices for services rose in the second quarter of 2005 from the corresponding quarter of the year before in all industries except hotel services. Prices increased most in the year, or by 7.4 per cent, in renting of construction and civil engineering equipment. In courier activities other than national post activities prices went up by 6.8 per cent. Prices increased least in the year in washing and drycleaning of textile and fur products, up by 0.2 per cent, and in legal services, 1.2 per cent. In hotel services, prices fell by 1.5 per cent from the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Point figures of producer price indices for services are initially published for 13 industries but the number of covered industries will be gradually increased up to the year 2006, when an overall index of producer prices for services will also be published. These initially published producer price indices for services are experimental, which means that the point figures for industries given here may remain subject to revision up to the year 2006 as the used calculation method is being developed or possibly adjusted.
