Producer prices for services went up by 2.2 per cent in October–December
According to Statistics Finland, producer prices for services went up by 2.2 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2011 from the corresponding quarter of the year before.

The rise in producer prices for services was mostly due to higher prices of goods transport by road and increases in the rents of office and business premises compared to the year before. The rise in prices was curbed most by decreases in the prices of telecommunications.
From third to fourth quarter producer prices for services went up by 0.8 per cent. This was mainly due to higher prices in the rents of office and business premises.

Producer price indices for services describe the price development in business services provided by enterprises to other enterprises and the public sector. The total index currently covers about half of the market services.
The base year and the release date for producer price indices for services will change in April
The producer price indices for services' sample will be updated, and the weight structures will be revised to correspond to the structures of services in 2010. In addition, the new base year will be 2010. The first revised 2010=100-indices will be released on 24 April 2012. Since the statistics of the first quarter 2012, the indices will be published on the 24th day of the month following the statistical reference quarter, or on the first working day following it.
