Cubic volume covered by granted building permits declined further in March to May
According to Statistics Finland's data, in March to May 2015 building permits were granted for a total of 8.9 million cubic metres, which is 16.3 per cent less than one year ago. At the same time, 8.9 per cent more building projects were started than last year but the constant-price volume of building production remained 8.2 per cent lower than one year ago. The data are based on Statistics Finland’s statistics on building and dwelling production, in which the data used will be supplemented over coming months and the data now released may still become revised.

Data of the statistics on building and dwelling production
Statistics production has normalised and the now published data are based on the building permit data of the Population Register Centre, and the data have not been corrected by statistical methods. The register data are supplemented as municipal building supervisors provide data to the Population Information System and the now published data can become revised.
