Total index of building costs on level with the year before

In March 2009 building costs were on level with March 2008. Labour costs in construction went up by 4.6 per cent. Prices of materials went down by 1.5 per cent and those of other inputs went down by 4.0 per cent year-on-year. This is indicated by the building cost index of Statistics Finland.

From February to March the total index of building costs went up by 0.4 per cent. The prices for labour rose by 3.0 procent. The prices of materials went down by 0.7 procent and the prices of those for other inputs by 1.1 per cent.
