Building costs fell by 0.4 per cent in January
Building costs were 0.4 per cent lower in January 2010 than in January 2009. Labour costs in construction rose by 3.4 per cent in the year. By contrast, prices of materials fell by 1.6 per cent and those of other inputs by 3.7 per cent. This is indicated by the Building Cost Index of Statistics Finland.
From December to January, the total index of building costs rose by 0.5 per cent. The prices for labour rose by 0.7 per cent, the prices of materials by 0.4 per cent and those of other inputs by 0.2 per cent from December.
