Building costs rose by 0.2 per cent in December in year-on-year

According to Statistics Finland, building costs were 0.2 per cent higher in December 2015 than in December of the previous year. In December, the prices of labour inputs in construction went up by 0.8, the prices of materials, in turn, decreased by 0.5 per cent. Prices of other inputs increased by 1.8 per cent year-on-year.

From November to December, the total index of building costs decreased by 0.2 per cent. The prices of labour inputs remained unchanged from the previous month. The prices of materials went down by 0.3 per cent and those of other inputs by 0.1 per cent month-on-month.

The Building Cost Index will adopt the base year 2015=100 (press release) starting from the January 2016 data.
