Building costs rose by 0.2 per cent in April year-on-year
According to Statistics Finland, building costs rose by 0.2 per cent in April 2017 compared with the previous year's April. The prices of materials went up by 0.9 per cent and those of services remained on level with the previous year. The prices of labour inputs in construction, in turn, fell by 0.8 per cent compared with April of the previous year. The fall in the prices of labour inputs is explained by lower social security costs compared with 2016.
Long term development of the Building Cost Index
From March to April, the total index of building costs remained on level with the previous month. The prices of materials went up by 0.2 per cent and the prices of services by 0.4 per cent. The prices of labour inputs fell by 0.3 per cent from the previous month.
