Producer Price Indices in June 2007
Producer prices for manufactured products rose by 3.6 per cent, export prices by 3.4 per cent and import prices by 3.8 per cent from June 2006 to June 2007. The basic price index for domestic supply went up by 4.7 per cent in the year. The year-on-year change in the wholesale price index amounted to 4.4 per cent.
Among the reasons for the risen producer prices for manufactured products were increases in the prices of nickel and timber from last year's June. The rise was curbed by falls in the prices of electrical products.
From May to June, producer prices for manufactured products fell by 0.1 per cent. The fall was mainly due to cheaper prices of nickel and electricity. The fall in the prices was curbed, among other things, by risen prices of oil products.
