Producer prices for manufactured products fell by 0.5 per cent from November last year

According to Statistics Finland, producer prices for manufactured products fell by an average of 0.5 per cent from November 2013 to November 2014. The producer prices for manufactured products sold on the domestic market declined by 0.9 per cent, while the producer prices of export products remained on average unchanged.

Producer prices for manufactured products went down especially due to reductions in the prices of oil products and electricity from last year's November. The fall in producer prices was slowed down, in particular, by higher prices of manufacturing of basic metals.

The Export Price Index fell by 0.2 per cent and the import price index by 2.3 per cent in the year. The Basic Price Index for Domestic Supply went down by 1.4 per cent. The Basic Price Index for Domestic Supply including taxes fell by 1.1 per cent.

Export prices declined especially due to lower prices of oil products and iron and steel from the previous year's November. The fall in the prices was particularly curbed by risen prices of basic precious metals and other non-ferrous metals. The fall in import prices was, in turn, especially caused by lower prices of oil products, chemicals and chemical products from last year's November. The fall in prices was slowed down, in particular, by higher prices of manufacturing of basic metals.

From October to November, producer prices for manufactured goods fell by 0.5 per cent. The fall was mainly due to decreased prices of oil products from the previous month.
