Producer Price Index (PPI) 2010=100, 1/2010–12/2017
The rise in the producer prices for manufactured products was particularly caused by increased prices of manufacturing of basic metals, chemicals and chemical products, as well as metal products (excl. machinery and equipment) from December 2016. However, the rising of producer prices were curbed particularly by fallen prices of electricity and paper, paperboard and cardboard.

The Export Price Index rose by 3.5 per cent and the Import Price Index by 6.0 per cent in the year. The Basic Price Index for Domestic Supply went up by 4.0 per cent. The Basic Price Index for Domestic Supply including taxes went up by 3.9 per cent.

Export prices were, in particular, boosted by the higher prices of manufacturing of basic metals and chemicals and chemical products from December last year. The rising of the prices was curbed particularly by fallen prices of paper, paperboard and cardboard. The rise in import prices was, in turn, especially caused by higher prices of oil products and metal ores compared with last year's December. The rising of the prices was curbed above all by falls in the prices of hard coal.

From November to December, producer prices for manufactured products went up by 0.2 per cent. The rise was mainly due to higher prices of metal products (excl. machinery and equipment) from the month before.
