Road traffic accidents claimed 6 lives in February
According to preliminary data of Statistics Finland, 247 accidents involving personal injury happened in road traffic in February In them, six persons were killed and 342 persons injured. The number of persons killed was 11 lower and that of persons injured 130 lower than in February 2012.

Of the persons who were killed, five travelled by passenger car. Pedestrians killed in road traffic accidents numbered one. Among those who died, five were men and one was a woman.
A total of 560 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in the January to February period. In them, 25 persons were killed and 754 persons injured. The number of persons killed was 19 lower and that of persons injured 265 lower than in the corresponding period of 2012. Of the person who were killed, 20 travelled by passenger car. Pedestrians killed numbered four. In addition, one other road user was killed.
