Road traffic accidents claimed 30 lives in November
According to preliminary data of Statistics Finland, 484 accidents involving personal injury happened in road traffic in November. In them, 30 persons were killed and 581 persons injured. The number of persons killed was 18 higher and that of persons injured six lower than in November 2012.

Of the persons who were killed, 17 travelled by passenger car, three by van and one by lorry. Pedestrians killed in road traffic accidents numbered eight and cyclists one. Among those who died, 23 were men and seven were women.
A total of 4,890 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in the January to November period. In them, 239 persons were killed and 6,109 persons injured. The number of persons killed was the same as in the corresponding period of 2012 and that of persons injured 392 lower. Of the persons who were killed, 142 travelled by passenger car, eight by van, five by lorry, 24 by motorcycle and three by moped. Pedestrians killed numbered 29 and cyclists 21. In addition, seven other road users were killed.
