Road traffic accidents claimed 14 lives in February
According to preliminary data of Statistics Finland, 243 accidents involving personal injury happened in road traffic in February. In them, 14 persons were killed and 324 persons injured. The number of persons killed was one higher and that of persons injured 68 lower than in February 2014.

Of the persons who were killed, eight travelled by passenger car, one by van and one by lorry. Pedestrians killed in road traffic accidents numbered three. In addition, one other road user was killed. Among those who died, nine were men and five were women.
A total of 587 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in the January to February period. In them, 31 persons were killed and 768 persons injured. The number of persons killed was four higher and that of persons injured 41 lower than in the corresponding period of 2014. Of the persons who were killed, 19 travelled by passenger car, two by van and one by lorry. Pedestrians killed numbered seven. In addition, two other road users were killed.
