Road traffic accidents claimed 19 lives in March
According to preliminary data of Statistics Finland, 324 accidents involving personal injury happened in road traffic in March. In them, 19 persons were killed and 388 persons injured. The number of persons killed was 7 higher and that of persons injured 32 lower than in March 2014.

Of the persons who were killed, 13 travelled by passenger car and 1 by van. Pedestrians killed in road traffic accidents numbered 2 and cyclists 2. In addition, 1 other road user was killed. Among those who died, 14 were men and 5 were women.
A total of 918 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in the January to March period. In them, 51 persons were killed and 1,165 persons injured. The number of persons killed was 9 higher and that of persons injured 67 lower than in the corresponding period of 2014. Of the persons who were killed, 33 travelled by passenger car, 3 by van and 1 by lorry. Pedestrians killed numbered 9 and cyclists 2. In addition, 3 other road users were killed.
