Road traffic accidents claimed 13 lives in March
According to preliminary data of Statistics Finland, 208 accidents involving personal injury happened in road traffic in March. In them, 13 persons were killed and 264 persons injured. The number of persons killed was six lower and that of persons injured 124 lower than in March 2015.

Of the persons who were killed, 11 travelled by passenger car. Pedestrians killed in road traffic accidents numbered five and cyclists one. Among those who died, 11 were men and 2 were women.
A total of 814 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in January to March period. In them, 48 persons were killed and 1,044 persons injured. The number of persons killed was three lower and that of persons injured 121 lower than in the corresponding period of 2015. Of the persons who were killed, 40 travelled by passenger car, one by van and one by lorry. Pedestrians killed numbered five and cyclists one.
