Road traffic accidents claimed 14 lives in November
According to preliminary data of Statistics Finland, 346 accidents involving personal injury happened in road traffic in November. In them, 14 persons were killed and 415 persons injured. The number of persons killed was five lower and that of persons injured 74 lower than in November 2017. The data were compared with the previous year's preliminary data.

Of the persons who were killed, eight travelled by passenger car, two by van and one by motorcycle. Pedestrians killed in road traffic accidents numbered three. Among those who died, 10 were men and four were women.
A total of 3,966 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in January to November period. In them, 200 persons were killed and 4,897 persons injured. The number of persons killed was the same and that of persons injured 220 lower than in the corresponding period of 2017. Of the persons who were killed, 126 travelled by passenger car, six by van, three by moped, 24 by motorcycle, one by lorry and four by bus. Pedestrians killed numbered 18 and cyclists 13. In addition, five other road users were killed.
