Substantial rise in prices of production inputs in agriculture
The purchase prices of means of agricultural production rose by good one fifth in the last quarter of 2021 compared with one year ago. Agricultural production commodities and services cost 28 per cent more and investments eight per cent more. Input prices rose in every respect. Fertilisers cost over double, energy one third and fodder good one fifth more than one year ago. These data derive from Statistics Finland's most recent index of purchase prices of means of agricultural production. The index describes how much the prices of agricultural production commodities, services and investments have changed from 2015.
