From 1987 to 2008, the share of employed persons among the 55 to 74 age group has been larger for men than for women. The difference was at its biggest in 1988, 6.5 percentage points. In the last four examined years, the share has grown larger for women than for men: according to the preliminary data for 2012, the share of employed persons in the age group was 0.9 percentage points higher for women than for men. In all, 34.7 per cent of women aged 55 to 74 and 33.8 per cent of men were employed.
