Employment grew and unemployment fell in June 2007

According to the Labour Force Survey of Statistics Finland, the number of employed persons in June was 2,619,000, i.e. 60,000 higher than one year previously. The employment rate stood at 73.5 per cent, while it was 72.1 per cent in June 2006.

There were 209,000 unemployed in June, i.e. 16,000 less than in the previous year. The rate of unemployment was 7.4 per cent, while it was 8,1 per cent one year before.
