Labour Force Survey first quarter data will be published according to TOL 2008 in April 2009

A revised Standard Industrial Classification, TOL 2008, will be introduced in Finnish statistics in 2009. General information about the transition is available on the TOL 2008 website. Detailed information about the TOL 2008 classification, such as its contents and classification principles, is available on the Classifications pages.

The new Standard Industrial Classification will be introduced in the Labour Force Survey in the beginning of 2009, and data on the fist quarter of the year will be published according to TOL 2008 in April 2009. At the same time the data of the statistics in database services and publications will be reclassified according to TOL 2008. The previously published data by TOL 2002 will remain available on the home page of the statistics and in the database services.

The current plan is to produce retrospective Labour Force Survey time series at the section level until the year 2000 and at 2 and 3-digit level until the year 2005.

Further information on the effects of the TOL 2008 transition on the use of industry data and on the comparability of time series produced with TOL 2008 and TOL 2002 will become available on the Labour Force Survey home page.
