Methodological and time series reform in national accounts

The calculation methods of national accounts are revised on 11 July 2014. The time series of the accounts also change starting from 1975. In connection with the renewal, methodological changes, revisions and classification revisions that affect the levels of GDP and its sub-items and other data of national accounts will be made.

For taxes and tax-like payments, the review mainly has an impact through the changed treatment of value added tax, revision in gross domestic product and some smaller changes. The tax rate also changes as a result of the renewal. New time series for government debt will be published on 30 September 2014.
