Number of persons working in cultural occupations and industries increased in 2022 from the year before
Employment improved in 2022 compared with the coronavirus year 2021. The number of those working in cultural occupations as their main job was around 136,100 in 2022, almost 6 % increase from 2021. In 2022, the number of employed persons in cultural industries was around 110,500, while one year earlier their number was around 108,500. However, employment in the field of culture has not yet recovered to the pre-pandemic level.
The development of the number of persons employed in cultural occupations is more even than in cultural industries. Cultural occupations also include self-employed persons, freelancers and persons working on a grant.
