Road traffic accidents claimed 18 lives in November 2024
According to Statistics Finland's preliminary data, 258 accidents involving personal injury happened in road traffic in November 2024. In them, 18 persons were killed and 334 persons injured. The number of fatalities was 11 higher and number of persons injured 58 higher than in November 2023. The data were compared with the previous year's preliminary data.

Road traffic accidents in January to November
A total of 2,572 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in the January to November period of 2024 according to preliminary data. In them, 159 persons were killed and 3,143 persons injured. The number of deaths was one higher and number of persons injured 178 lower than in the corresponding period of 2023. Of the persons who were killed, 78 travelled by passenger car, seven by van, five by moped, 16 by motorcycle and three by lorry. Pedestrians killed numbered 16 and cyclists 19. In addition, 15 other road users were killed.
