Volume of transport in domestic waterborne traffic decreased by 35 per cent in July 2024
According to Statistics Finland’s preliminary data, the total volume of goods transported in domestic waterborne traffic was 0.3 million tonnes in July 2024. Transport in domestic waterborne traffic decreased by 35 per cent compared to July 2023. In July 2024, domestic water transport took place almost only in coastal waterways.

Oil products were transported most in domestic waterborne traffic in July
Oil products were transported most, in total 139,014 million, which was 53 per cent of all transport. Timber was transported next most, 40,559 tonnes, making up 16 per cent of all transport. Preliminary data on timber transport are supplemented at the end of the statistical reference year.
