Non-subsidised rents increased 1.3 % in July to September 2024

According to Statistics Finland, rents of non-subsidised dwellings increased by 0.5 per cent in Greater Helsinki and by 1.8 per cent in a year in the rest of Finland in July to September 2024. The rents of non-subsidised rental dwellings rose most in Rovaniemi (2.8 %), Hämeenlinna (2.6 %) and Tampere (2.6 %) and Oulu (2.6 %). The rents rose least in Rauma (0.1 %), Vantaa (0.2 %) and Mikkeli (0.6%).

Key selections

  • In July to September 2024 rents in non-subsidised dwellings have risen most from the previous year in one-room flats in Rovaniemi by 2.9 per cent, in two-room flats in Hämeenlinna by 2.7 per cent and in family dwellings in Hämeenlinna by 3.4 per cent.
  • Rents of non-subsidised one-room flats increased by 0.3 per cent in Greater Helsinki. Rents of one-room flats went up by 1.7 per cent in the rest of Finland.
  • Rents of government-subsidised dwellings went up by 5.6 per cent in Greater Helsinki and by 4.0 per cent in the rest of the country in a year.
  • Rents of government-subsidised dwellings rose most in Hämeenlinna 7.1 per cent, Helsinki 6.7 per cent and in Kouvola 6.1 per cent.
