Read more about the changeAccording to Statistics Finland, around 0.5 million leisure trips abroad were made in April 2024, which is 15 per cent fewer than in the corresponding period of the year before. The number of domestic leisure trips with overnight stay was 1.7 million, which is more or less the same as in April 2023.

- The number of leisure trips abroad with overnight stay in the destination country was around 0.4 million in April 2024, which is almost one fifth fewer than one year earlier.
- The total number of domestic leisure trips remained on level with April 2023. The number of trips with free accommodation grew by five per cent and that of trips with paid accommodation fell by 19 per cent.
- Altogether 5.4 million overnight stays during leisure trips were recorded in Finland and 3.2 million abroad.
- Around 0.2 million domestic business trips with overnight stay were made, which is nearly one half fewer than in April 2023.
- The number of business trips abroad remained on level with the previous year and was around 0.1 million in April 2024.
