According to Statistics Finland, the official total population of Finland was 5,603,851 at the end of 2023. In the course of 2023, Finland’s population grew by 39,881 persons, which is the biggest increase since 1956. The exceptionally high increase in the population is particularly explained by Ukrainians arriving in Finland during 2022, who were entitled to a municipality of residence during 2023.
