Turnover declining in all largest industries of trade

Among the industries of trade, working day adjusted turnover in motor vehicle trade decreased by 4.2 per cent in July from the previous year. The working day adjusted volume of sales in motor vehicle trade went down by 3.7 per cent from July 2023. 

Working day adjusted turnover in the trade industry with the biggest turnover, wholesale trade, decreased in July by 0.9 per cent and sales volume by 2.4 per cent year-on-year. However, growth in the wholesale of household goods was strong as working day adjusted turnover was 6.9 per cent higher than in July 2023. The working day adjusted volume of sales in the wholesale of household goods increased by 2.3 per cent.

In retail trade, working day adjusted turnover went down by 1.9 per cent and sales volume by 2.1 per cent in July.

Seasonally adjusted turnover remained on level with June

In July, seasonally adjusted turnover in total trade remained on level with June. The seasonally adjusted volume of sales decreased by 0.2 per cent. In June, seasonally adjusted turnover decreased by 0.5 per cent and sales volume by 0.5 per cent from one month back.
