Turnover in trade remained on level with the previous year in August 2024

Turnover in motor vehicle trade only growing among the biggest industries of trade

Among the industries of trade, working day adjusted turnover in motor vehicle trade increased by 1.9 per cent in August year-on-year. The working day adjusted volume of sales in motor vehicle trade grew by 1.9 per cent from August 2023. 

Working day adjusted turnover in the trade industry with the biggest turnover, wholesale trade, decreased in August by 1.2 per cent and sales volume by 1.0 per cent year-on-year.

In retail trade, working day adjusted turnover went down by 0.5 per cent and sales volume by 0.7 per cent in August. Turnover in retail sale of cultural and recreation goods in specialised stores continued to fall in August as turnover went down by 2.6 per cent from one year ago. The volume of sales in the industry fell by 2.1 per cent from August 2023.

Seasonally adjusted turnover grew from July

Seasonally adjusted turnover in total trade grew by 0.4 per cent in August compared to July. Seasonally adjusted sales volume went up by 0.4 per cent. In July, seasonally adjusted turnover increased by 0.6 per cent and sales volume by 0.3 per cent from one month back.
