According to Statistics Finland's data, consolidated total general government expenditure was 55.8 per cent relative to gross domestic product in 2023. Due to the wellbeing services county reform, the figures on local government are not comparable with the previous year. Of the expenditure of central government and social security funds, expenditure on social protection and defence grew most.
