Voting turnout highest in years in the first round of the Presidential election 2024

Alexander Stubb and Pekka Haavisto received most votes in the first round of the 2024 Presidential election and made it to the second round. The Coalition Party's Stubb gained 27.2 per cent and the constituency association's candidate Haavisto got 25.8 per cent of all votes cast. Jussi Halla-aho of the Finns Party received the third most votes, 19.0 per cent of all votes cast. According to Statistics Finland, voting turnout was highest since the 2000 election.

The voting percentage of Finnish citizens resident in Finland was 75.0, which is 5.1 percentage points higher than in the previous elections in 2018. The voting turnout for the first round was highest since 2000. Once again, women voted more actively than men, the voting percentage of women living in Finland was 77.3 per cent and that of men 72.5 per cent.
The voting percentage was highest in the constituency of Helsinki (78.8%) and lowest in the constituency of Åland (64.7%). Of municipalities, the voting percentage of those living in Mainland Finland was highest in Luoto (88.8%) and lowest in Hyrynsalmi (63.9%).
