According to Statistics Finland, 3,581,800 persons had completed a post-comprehensive level qualification in 2023. Seventy-five per cent of the population aged 15 or over had completed a post-comprehensive level qualification. Seventy-seven per cent of women and 73 per cent of men had completed a post-comprehensive level qualification.

Key selections

  • The region with the highest educated population was Uusimaa, where 40 per cent had completed a tertiary level qualification
  • Those aged 45 to 49 were the highest educated age group, as 48 per cent of them had attained a tertiary level qualification.
  • The most popular field of education was technology, where 84 per cent of those with qualifications were men and 16 per cent women.
  • Twenty per cent of those aged 20 to 24 had no post-comprehensive level qualification, 23 per cent of men and 17 per cent of women.
