Data of producer price indices were corrected on 23 December 2022
Date of correction:Errors were detected in the database of producer price indices, for which reason the time series are corrected retrospectively. The correction concerns some product categories and total indices of the producer price index for manufactured products and export price index from 01/2022-10/2022, as well as the total index of the basic price index for domestic supply, including taxes from 01/2021-10/2022. The data of the following database tables were updated concerning these corrections: 118g, 118i, 118k, 118m, 118h, 118j, 118l, 118n.
The data of the import price index and the basic price index for domestic supply remain unchanged.
Indices and product groups which are affected by the correction
The data of the producer price index for manufactured products and the export price index for all base year indices are corrected. The correction concerns data from January 2022 to October 2022 for the following product groups: overall indices, in other words the Total level, data of series C Manufactured products, 17 Paper and paper products, 17.1 Pulp, paper and paperboard, 17.12 Paper and paperboard, and MIG1 Intermediate goods. The time series of product group 19 Manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products has also been updated, but the point figures of the product group in question are not public. Other index series remain unchanged.
The data of the basic price index for domestic supply, including taxes, for all base year indices are corrected. The correction concerns the data for January 2021 until the data for October 2022 for the following indices: overall indices, in other words the Total level. Other index data remain unchanged.
The classification of data for the base year 1949=100 differs from other base years. The correction concerns producer price index for manufactured products and export price index from January 2022 to October 2022 for the following product groups: Total index 0-8; 6 Manufactured goods, SITC 6; 64 Manufactured goods: paper, paperboard and manufacture thereof, SITC 64; 2-3 Manufacturing industry ISIC, rev.1:2-3 and 27 Manufacturing industry: manufacture of paper and paper products ISIC, rev.1:27. Wholesale price index was corrected from January 2021 to October 2022 concerning Total index 0-8.
The data of the import price index and the basic price index for domestic supply remain unchanged.

The correction made to the indices is caused by an error made in connection with the updating of the annual weights. The rows of the table used in index calculations have doubled for some index series, which caused errors in the aggregation of the indices.
The size of the correction in time series
In the overall index of the producer price index for manufactured products 2015=100 for October 2022, the difference between the erroneous and corrected point figures was -1.7 index points. In the export price index 2015=100 the difference was -3.3 index points. In the basic price index for domestic supply, including taxes, 2015=100 the difference was 3.9 index points on the overall index level.
