Decisions by administrative courts
Discontinued:
The statistics describing the activities of administrative courts contain data on court decisions by type of case and on the times taken by the decisions. Administrative courts (former provincial courts) handle and solve complaints relating to administrative law lodged against decisions of authorities, administrative disputes, and other matters coming under their jurisdiction. Most of the cases solved by administrative courts concern taxation, and social and health care. The next largest category of cases they handle relate to matters concerning aliens and economic activity, transport and communications. Each administrative court deals with administrative judicial matters in the area of one or several regions. Court proceedings of certain types of matters are centralised to only one administrative court. For example, matters concerning value added tax and asylum are dealt with in the Administrative Court of Helsinki and matters under the Water Rights Act and the Environmental Protection Act in the Administrative Court of Vaasa.
Detailed tables of the discontinued statistics are available in the StatFin archive database
