Industrial output grew by 0.7 per cent in December from November
According to Statistics Finland, seasonally adjusted industrial output was 0.7 per cent higher in December 2006 than in November. Seasonally adjusted volume of industrial output increased by 5.8 per cent year-on-year from December 2005. According to preliminary data calculated by Statistics Finland industrial output grew by 7.8 per cent in 2006.

Capacity utilisation rate in manufacturing was 77 per cent in December. In the pulp and paper industry, capacity utilisation rate was 87 per cent and in the metal industry 74 per cent. In the chemical industry, capacity utilisation rate was 83 per cent and in other manufacturing 76 per cent.
Revised data for December 2006 will be published at 9 am on 28 February 2007 in connection with the industrial output data for January 2007. Because of the method used, seasonally adjusted figures for previous months may change even if the original figures do not become revised. The seasonally adjusted figures will also be adjusted for working days.
