New map service from open geographic data

Statistics Finland has opened its own map service where you can view and download Statistics Finland's open geographic data. Open geographic data include municipality-based statistical areas and statistical grids also complemented with population data, Paavo postal code areas and road traffic accidents.

A map produced from the service can be saved or printed as an image file or a link can be made to it for sharing.

In addition, data can be retrieved in the map service from the Municipal key figures database and the results can be viewed by municipality as thematic maps. The municipal key figures are such as the population, the employment rate and the share of foreign citizens in the population. Time series animations can also be produced from thematic maps.
