Read more about the changeAccording to Statistics Finland, there were 26,400 new completers of the matriculation examination in the spring term 2023, of whom 57 per cent were women. Seventy-seven per cent of new passers of the matriculation examination applied immediately for further studies, but only 34.5 per cent continued studies immediately. Twenty-one per cent of new passers of the matriculation examination continued in university education, 12 per cent in university of applied sciences education and 1.5 per cent in vocational education.
